The Architectural League’s annual Emerging Voices lecture series and award spotlights individuals and firms with a distinct design ‘voice’ that has the potential to influence the discipline of architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design. This year, two Mexican architects will be featured as part of the program.
On March 2nd, Frida Escobedo, joined by Brian Bell and David Yocum will present the first event of the lecture series. Frida Escobedo is founder of Frida Escobedo, Taller de Arquitectura in Mexico City. Her firm strives to “give room for growth and flexibility” in large-scale public project.
On March 16th, Mexican architect Eduardo Cadaval and his Spanish partner, Clara Solà-Morales joined by Thomas R. Robinson will feature the third evening of the series. Cadaval & Solà-Morales was founded by Eduardo Cadaval and Clara Solà-Morales in 2003. Originally based in New York, the firm now operates from Mexico City and Barcelona. They view their practice as “an overlap between the three main fields within the discipline: theory, academy, and praxis”.
